Preparations afoot to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day
MIRPUR: Brisk preparations are afoot to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day across Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) besides Pakistan on February 5, to reiterate support with the Kashmiris in their just struggle for the freedom of their homeland.
AJK government spokesperson, Raja Azhar Iqbal while talking to APP said that government as well as social, political and human rights organizations are engaged to chalk out programmes to re-pledge their solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir.
Human chains by the people of Pakistan and AJK at all the six bridges linking Pakistan to AJK will be the hall mark of the Kashmir Solidarity Day to reiterate complete solidarity by the Pakistani nation with the Kashmiris.
The AJK Council will organize a special ceremony on Kashmir in the Federal Capital to highlight the Kashmir cause. Special awards are said to be given away on this occasion to those who rendered invaluable services in projecting the Kashmir dispute.
The AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan and Prime Minister Ch.Abdul Majeed will visit the Kashmir refugee camps in Muzaffarabad to share their miseries and grief. Food packets and gifts will also be distributed among the refugees.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and the upper house-AJK Council will hold a joint session in Muzaffarabad to pay tributes to the people of Kashmir for continuing the struggle for achievement of right of self determination.
